Diamonds are typically classified by the four Cs: carat, clarity, color and cut.

CUT

The type of cut chosen for a gem largely depends on the diamond itself. Various factors such as inclusions or flaws may ask for a certain type of diamond cut. In addition, you will be interested in seeing most of the weight preserved rather than wasted by a lavish cut of the diamond. Consumers have different tastes and will usually have a preference towards a certain cut. All these variables will have to be evaluated together in order to determine the desired diamond cut.
