Tanzanite Engagement Ring

Some people are looking for an extraordinary way to express themselves with an engagement ring. One way to do so is by purchasing a tanzanite engagement ring. Tanzanite was named after the country it was first found in, Tanzania, and is a blueish mineral that has not been found elsewhere on this planet.

Given the trend towards exclusivity in the past years, tanzanite has increased in popularity dramatically. In combination with other gems, it truly excels at communicating the luxurious element of tanzanite. As with diamonds, tanzanite comes in different tones that influence the pricing and desirability of the gem. The most expensive variant is deeply blue tone and is relatively scarce in smaller stones.

Tip: In case you intend to match various stones with each other, it can be hard to determine whether they fit together. This task is even harder when dealing over the internet. Accordingly, consulting an offline jeweler of your choice may be a good way to avoid disappointments steming from mismatches of different stones.

In most cases, the tanzanite has been heat-treated prior to your purchase. If it has not been treated, it can typically be found in various grayish tones that can appear slightly brownish. Once the stone has encountered a healthy dose of approximately 500 degrees Celsius it obtains the typical blue color tone that is unique to tanzanite. In nature, this blue tone occurs seldom making a natural blue tanzanite a very expensive gift.

Tanzanite belongs to a group of gems that is very soft which makes it very important to treat them in a very careful manner. Chemical cleansers, for instance, should be avoided at any cost as they could potentially react with either the surface or the stone itself. Tanzanite is very hard to repair, if repairable at all, given that most techniques involved in this process can lead to damages that cannot be reversed. As a result, it is strongly advised that you take several precautions such as keeping the tanzanite jewelry in a separate spot from all your other gems in order to minimize the risk of damage.

Purchasing a smaller deep blue tanzanite stone with less than 2 carats can be a costly investment as this color tone occurs very rarely and is priced accordingly. When doing your comparison shopping for the gem of your choice keep the following tip in mind: Always compare stones of the same cut. As outlined before, it is very difficult to shape the tanzanite without breaking it and, as a result, the more difficult cuts are worth far more due to their scarcity.

Tattoo Wedding Rings

Boundaries are constantly being crossed when it comes to getting married and all the magical goings-on which surround it. Some people choose to have unorthodox weddings in unusual environments, or who choose to wear unique outfits on their big day, but what about when it comes to the actual wedding rings? It’s difficult to be unique with something so specific but that was until somebody came up with the idea of tattoo wedding rings, and why ever not?

The most ‘traditional’ (for lack of a better word) tattooed wedding ring is in a Celtic design, around the wedding ring finger of both husband and wife. Usually done in black ink, this design features no images of stones (very hard to make look authentic when on the skin) and is simple yet classic. Some people ignore the favoured wedding ring on the finger design and go for a tattooed ring somewhere else on the body, perhaps on the wrist or on the arm. In these cases the ring is usually cut in half, perhaps with a phrase or a heart which is only complete when both halves are put together. In this way it’s a beautiful sentiment and there are people who use this as their ring rather than a physical gold or silver one.

Perhaps the only negative issue with tattooed wedding rings is if the couple are to divorce. Of course if they get a tattooed wedding ring in the first place then the concept of divorce is far from their minds, yet in a practical sense it’s maybe better to remember that one day you might seriously want to be able to take the ring off for a while, and this constant reminder might cause distress if this isn’t possible.
On the other hand, it seems that the positives actually outweigh the negatives, especially if you love the look and style of tattoos. A tattooed wedding ring is a permanent sentiment and a real commitment for both parties. It’s also generally cheaper, can be easily re-inked if it fades and the design can be added to at any time.

Wedding rings are designed and made to be worn all day, every day until ‘death do us part’, so it only makes sense that a tattoo does the same thing. Perhaps tattoos even hold the concept of marriage even better than removable rings do and who knows, maybe we will see a wedding ring revolution in the 21st century.

Third Party Custody

Third party custody is a legal status which can arise in a wide variety of cases. When someone who is not the child’s biological mother or father wants to take legal custody of the minor, this is known as third party custody.

This sometimes and unfortunately happens when one or both of the child’s parents are deceased, but more commonly following a divorce settlement. If both parents are deemed unfit to care for the child then a third party, such as a grandparent or a close family friend, may step forward and ask for sole custody. Sole custody means that they, and only they, can be held legally responsible for the child. Joint custody involves two separate people having legal custody of the child, and they will then arrange a schedule under the court which dictates where the child lives and when.

A person is deemed unfit to have custody of a child when:

1. They are abusive
2. They are neglectful
3. They have a physical or mental condition that prevents them for caring for the child adequately.

Who Has Rights?

Technically, everyone has the right to go to court and ask for custody of any child, but obviously certain people have more weight over others. A stranger to a child will get nowhere if trying for custody against a blood relative or someone who has taken care of them in the past.

The federal government tries its best to keep the biological parents as legal guardians, as this is the natural state for any child. However, when the parents are unfit to look after the child, or deceased, other avenues must be explored. In this case, the biological grandparents will have more weight than an unrelated family friend. Older siblings who are over the age of 18 may also be granted custody.

Many people assume they will not be granted custody of a child because of their financial situation, but the federal government maintains that this is exactly what child benefits and other financial aids are for. A person’s financial status makes no difference in a third party custody case.

When It May Not Be Necessary

If you or your lawyer don’t think you have a chance of actually winning a case for third party custody, then think of the child involved and leave them be. The court will always do what is best for the child, and if you approach a court with a case for third party custody that’s primarily selfish, you will be immediately dismissed. The child’s welfare always comes first.

How to Get Started

If you want to try and gain custody of a child then your very first move should be to contact a lawyer and start working on your case. Anybody in competition for custody of the child will have a lawyer and the child will have one themselves. You need a professional to explain to you and the court what is required of a legal custodian, why you are the most suitable for that role and why anybody else may not be. Presenting legal evidence is a complex procedure fraught with clauses and policies, so you should not attempt to do it yourself.

Titanium Engagement Rings

One word of caution: Titanium is a very hard metal. If you intend to wear your titanium every day and are exposed to lots of physical activity, chances of you breaking at least one of your fingers are relatively high. If the question is whether your fingers or titanium are stronger, titanium always wins.

Titanium is a metal that offers you extreme strength at a relatively cheap price. Over the past years Titanium Engagement Rings have slowly become more and more popular.

Titanium is all around us and can typically be found in a huge variety of places such as plants, meteorites as well as our own body. The main characteristic typically associated with Titanium is its strength. Gold and Silver pale in comparison with Titanium’s strength. An aspect that has both positive as well as negative sides as we will outline later on.

The element of Titanium has application fields that range from aircraft technology to golf clubs and even military usage. Given its abundant supply it is a very popular choice as it provides an incredible amount of strength at an affordable price.

# Resistant to decay
# hypoallergenic
# light metal
# non-magnetic
# very strong

Titanium engagement rings are recommended for people with skin that is very sensitive or persons allergic to other metals such as Gold or Silver.

Titanium is a metal preferred by men as it is commonly associated with strength and that is a characteristic that almost every man believes to be a desirable one.

What color is Titanium?

Think of a silver ring, mentally put a ring made out of white gold next to it and finally visualize a ring that is slightly darker by a few nuances than a mixture of both metals. That is the color tone most titanium rings have.

People looking for a ring that does not stand out visually may consider Titanium as one of their choices as its greyish tones communicate elegance rather than opulence.

However, given the strength of Titanium in comparison with other metallic elements the level of customization by a professional jeweler is limited.

Where to buy a Titanium Engagement Ring?

More and more jewelers offer their customers Titanium engagement rings. However, given the difficulty in handling this metal professionally, the number of outlets selling titanium engagement rings is still very limited. The typical jeweler will have a wide range made out of white gold, silver and platinum yet do not expect to see titanium rings at every local jeweler.

We strongly recommend that you start looking for a titanium engagement ring online first. Over the past years several jewelers have specialized in manufacturing TER and various other jewelers have added T jewelry to their online outlets.

We have outlined the difficulties of working with T earlier on. Given the strength of the material it is relatively difficult to form the metal into custom shapes with lavish decorations or to combine it with other metals in a smooth manner.

How much does a Titanium Engagement Ring cost?

Customers looking for a plain ring will find ones made from titanium to be cheaper than their counterparts made from the classic metals such as gold or platinum. If a customer wants to see complicated patterns or rich designs being applied to his ring, it may turn the titanium engagement ring into the costlier option as working with titanium is very difficult and takes both experience and lots of time. As a result, despite the raw metal being cheaper that most alternatives, the more customization you ask for, the higher the price of a titanium engagement ring.

If a jeweler applies his standard tools to the metal of titanium he can expect to see them dull within a short period of time. Specialized equipment is being used for processing titanium yet the problem of creating rich designs on titanium remains a difficult one to tackle.

Titanium does not rust nor does it tarnish easily. As with almost any other material or metal, a titanium engagement ring may scratch once it is exposed various physical activities such as sports or work where the ring comes in contact with other materials or substances.

If TER’s are not worn we recoomend storing them separately from other jewelry that may accidently scratch the surface of the ring. One precaution that may be taken is to protect it from other objects with a thin piece of cloth.

In case minor repair or maintainance work has to be done on a TER, always evaluate whether the jeweler has experience working with titanium. Do not assume that every single jeweler does possess both the tools as well as the capability of working with titanium in a proper manner. A short inquiry may save you lots of headache and troubles.
Another issue that arises: it is virtually impossible to solder titanium. This makes it necessary to utilise different techniques to attach other elements to ring itself. If you feel like purchasing a titanium ring but would prefer a different colour tone, here is the good news: it is possible to buy titanium that has been modified and offers you various colours that are eye-catching such as bold blue or bright purple.

Tungsten Wedding Rings

Tungsten Wedding Rings: A Strong Choice for Couples

When it comes to wedding rings, gold and platinum are not the only popular choices now. Tungsten is one of the latest metals on the wedding ring market and many couples opt for it due to its unconventional appeal and excellent durability.

The look of tungsten wedding rings tend to have a masculine appeal and this is why many bridegrooms prefer them to gold or [[Platinum Wedding Rings]]. There are many designs that appeal to women as well, especially to those who are looking for something simple, yet strong and beautiful.

Tungsten carbide rings are created using an advanced technology and the creation process involves several big challenges that include shaping and finishing the extremely hard and dense metal, as well as multiple steps of grinding and polishing – each ring is individually hand crafted using diamond-embedded grinding tools and polished with a diamond compound to a long-lasting shine. This extraordinary process of creating the ring is no doubt the main factor that differentiates tungsten wedding rings from the traditional gold and platinum rings.

Due to its hardness, tungsten ring is more water resistant, holds its shape and shine longer, and remains polished. The strength of the ring also makes it a good choice for those who work a lot with their hands since it is able to withstand harsh treatment and remain in good condition. In addition, tungsten has natural hypoallergenic properties that make it perfect for people with sensitive skin or those who are allergic to metals. It does not irritate the skin or cause a pigment discoloration.

Tungsten wedding rings are cheaper than gold or platinum rings but more expensive than titanium rings. The prices can range from $200 to $1,500 depending on the design and whether the ring has inlays of gold or platinum or diamonds.

Turquoise Engagement Rings

Turquoise is one of the most beautifully unusual stones to be set in an engagement ring with its bright, uplifting color and gently uneven surface. This particular stone is matte, reflecting little light yet giving off its own vibrancy and often interspersed with dark, attractive cracks.

Spiritually the turquoise stone symbolises a love of healing, which is a wonderful gesture to give as an engagement ring as it almost says ‘let this ring stand in for the times when I’m not there to protect and heal you’. This symbolism also ties in closely to its physical properties. Every precious stone naturally resonates at a different frequency, almost giving off an ‘energy’ which can help or hinder certain mental or physical factors. Turquoise stones resonate at a frequency which promotes self-healing whenever it is near the body. This might be physical (turquoise is said to help heal the lungs, throat, hypertension, poor hearing and toothache amongst others) or mental, as it is also said to help promote communication, socialism, creativity, uplifted mood and to remove negativity.

For style and to avoid any wearing away of the stone, turquoise is best set in a ring made of silver. Do bear in mind that this particular stone is very prone to fading in the sunlight (it is quite similar physically to amethyst) and when exposed to sweat and bleach. If you are someone who lives in a particularly hot country and who spends a lot of time outdoors then turquoise is perhaps not right for you. If you do spend a lot of time in the heat and sunshine you can always store your ring safely indoors if you don’t mind not wearing it all the time. It is also recommended that you remove a turquoise engagement ring before doing any washing up or cleaning to avoid erosion and fading from bleaches within detergents.

If you are a fan of turquoise but want a different stone for a wedding ring or perhaps for matching jewellery sets then look towards chrysocolla. This gorgeous deep blue and bright aqua smooth stone has almost fractal-like patterns within it and creates a whirlpool of blues and greens when featured next to turquoise.

Turquoise engagement rings are very popular right now and fit in entirely with the boho chic look. There isn’t really a colour that turquoise doesn’t match with (apart from perhaps gold) so this ring is versatile in style, it can be easily cut to shape and is certainly eye catching.

Vintage Engagement Rings

The phrase ‘one person’s just is another’s treasure’ is rife with vintage clothing, fashion and especially jewellery. The definition of a piece of vintage fashion is any garment which dates from between approximately 1920 to 1960, with anything before this classed as ‘antique’ and anything produced afterwards classed as ‘retro’. Vintage clothing follows no specific design or style, but is generally characterised as second hand rare treasures.

Vintage engagement rings can be elaborate and over the top or alternatively delicate and understated. Yet most of the time, when pulled off well, they are the most beautiful engagement rings that can be found. After all, they make popular heirlooms, with many Women wearing their mother’s, grandmother’s and great grandmother’s wedding rings as their own. Traditional vintage engagement rings usually have multiple stones and are set into gold. They can range from remarkably expensive yet classic, such as a five stone cut diamond ring on a band of authentic gold, whereas others (like any type of ring) can simply be imitations and cost a lot less.

The beauty with vintage engagement rings is that there are so many different styles to choose from. It’s important to remember that the vintage era stretches from 1920 right up to 1960 and in those forty years the fashionably accepted style of engagement ring changed several times. In general, those stones which sit on a gold band are more elaborate and ‘showy’, whereas those on a silver band are somewhat toned down (perhaps more ideal for a wedding ring).

When it comes to the stones on vintage engagement rings diamond, ruby and sapphire were popular stones of the era. Diamond almost goes without saying as it is timeless for engagement and wedding rings, yet ruby really makes a statement when worn today and sapphire is a classic indication of vintage jewellery. Emerald is another vintage stone but is found less commonly and is difficult as the deep green color doesn’t always match clothing and other jewellery.

If you are considering having a vintage ring for your engagement ring then remember to look into insurance and have it valued by an independent antique expert just in case the seller has valued it wrong. It’s also worth asking if it needs any touching up or reinforcing, as losing a stone from a ‘new’ vintage ring can be awful. Perhaps the best part about having a vintage engagement ring is the intrigue and history which is encapsulates within its stone.

Wedding Flowers Selection Guide

A Guide to Selecting Wedding Flowers

Wedding flowers are one of the most important aspects to reflect upon when planning a wedding. There is also a wide variety of wedding flowers and arrangements that must be considered when choosing your bouquet and wedding decor. First and most importantly is the bride’s bouquet, and this is typically what comes to mind when choosing or selecting wedding flowers. However, in addition to the bride’s bouquet, there are flowers that must be selected for the flower girl, for the bouquets carried by bridesmaids, corsages for both the mother of the bride and groom, for women who hold a special place in the wedding party, and as boutonnieres for the men in the wedding party, including the groom.

In addition to the wedding flowers that will be used for the immediate wedding party, you’ll also need to select wedding flowers for decorations for the wedding area. These include wedding flowers for the altar, pews, and individual seats. You’ll also need to choose wedding flowers for the reception area. These flowers include centerpieces for the bride and groom’s table, flowers for individual guests tables, for the cake, gift, and photograph areas, for the restrooms, and for the buffet table. Additional wedding flowers will be used for the wedding cake as well as for the honeymoon vehicle used to transport the bride and groom away after the reception. An assortment of flower petals used for decorations will also be required. With so many decisions to make, it is essential that ample time will be devoted simply to the planning, selecting, and use of wedding flowers.

Wedding flowers should be selected early into the wedding preparations. Since there are so many areas where the perfect bouquet, centerpiece, and other floral arrangement are vital, it is recommended to use a professional florist. A florist will advise you on the best color choices, as well as which flowers will be in season at the time of the wedding. You’ll also need to ensure that the florist is capable of supplying the abundance of wedding flowers needed for your event.

Color choice is an important factor to consider when selecting wedding flowers. By determining ahead of time what flowers will be in season, you’ll have a better selection to choose your color scheme by. When speaking with your florist, consider discussing locally grown flowers as opposed to those that will be imported on a global or international scale. When choosing local flowers, you can find greater selection and have more confidence that the flowers will be available, as well as easy to obtain when your special day arrives.

It’s also a good idea to get a list of all of the flowers available during your wedding season and not rule out any simply because they are not what most brides choose for their weddings. There are many flowers that work beautifully as wedding flowers and these are often overlooked. By considering a wide variety of flower choices, everyone can ensure that no matter what their budget they can include the perfect assortment of wedding flowers to meet all of their bouquet and decor needs.

There are several tips that you can use when selecting wedding flowers while on a budget. By incorporating these tips you’ll find that you can still enjoy the luxuriousness of exquisite wedding flower bouquets and centerpieces while stretching your dollar power. A good example would be to use more greenery in your decor. By adding a bit more greenery, you can save on the overall cost of flowers while still creating a lavish look and feel. By cutting back on some flowers in certain areas, you can use the savings for other expenses or use the savings for extra special flowers that you can add to your wedding bouquet.

When selecting wedding flowers for your bouquet, you’ll need to keep several factors in mind. First, you’ll want to ensure that the flowers are appropriate for the type of fabric, design, and complement your wedding theme’s colors. By taking the time to ensure that the colors of your bouquet’s flowers are well suited for the garments worn by your wedding party, you can be certain that your bouquet will be exceptionally spectacular. It’s also important to make sure that your bouquet complements your size and frame as well. If you are extremely petite, you will appear overshadowed by an unusually large bouquet. Likewise, if you are of a larger frame, an extremely small bouquet will look misplaced. Choose an arrangement that not only blends with the colors of your wedding theme and the fabric or textures in your wedding gown, but also one that easily complements and enhances your figure.

Another important aspect to consider when choosing wedding flowers is the scent of each flower individually as well as their scent combined. Speaking with your florist will give you the greatest amount of options, as you will be able to determine the scent of flowers that will be in season. Your florist will also provide you with plenty of information regarding which flower combinations will offer the most pleasing and fragrant aroma, perfect for your wedding. You might even decide that choosing flowers with little or no scent is the best choice.

There is one very important aspect that must be discussed with your florist, as well as your bridal party, allergies. When selecting wedding flowers you must consider the fact that many people do suffer from allergies and if you choose flowers that have a high pollen count, you might be asking for trouble. A bridesmaid or groomsman who continually sneezes and wipes their eyes, as well as their nose, throughout the ceremony is surely to put a damper on your festivities. Let the wedding party know what type of flowers you are considering so that those who do suffer from allergies may plan accordingly.

Finally, one aspect to think about is that you should test your wedding flowers during your wedding rehearsal. Ensuring that your flowers will remain in perfect condition throughout the wedding ceremony is vitally important. This will prevent any sudden disappointments of wilted blooms before saying “I do”. By taking these factors into consideration, you can rest assured that the wedding flowers that you select will be the perfect accompaniment to your wedding.

Wedding Ring Buying Tips

Must know points for your most revered and adored wedding rings

Can you name a single object that signifies the greatest and most important single event of our lives? If you are already married, chances are, you are touching your beloved wedding ring as you are reading the question. If you are not, but planning to enter into the wonderful married life soon, you know the answer already. You have probably spent hours and days in thinking, turning the pages of catalogues or window-shopping for the most appropriate wedding ring. Wedding rings bear unmatched significance in all our lives. Wedding rings are important and they are expensive too. Therefore when selecting the most suitable piece, you need to adhere to some basic guidelines. These guidelines may vary notably from other typical wedding jewelry buying tips. This is where this write-up will assist you.

Keep your choices limited

Wedding ring varieties are wide and tempting. A large inventory of wedding ring types and designs may entice you in a rather overwhelming range of choices. As a result, you may get confused and waste valuable time in making a decision. With an open mind, take a preliminary look at magazines, catalogues and jewelry stores to find out what are available at today’s markets. You may also browse through websites which exclusively feature wedding rings with snapshots and ornament specifications. After this sit together to decide on the following:

What material will you be looking for gold, platinum, silver, fusion or blended metals (like ceramics, tungsten etc)?
What color you want your rings of white, yellow, black or grey?
Do you need your wedding rings to match other wedding jewelries?
Do you like to have stones or gems? If so, what color are you comfortable with?
Do you want your wedding rings to have a plain, simple look or you need them to be stunning and eye-catching?

Answering all the above questions will allow you narrow your choices to a manageable proportion.

Work out a suitable budget

This is probably the most important factor in deciding your wedding rings. Present day jewelry markets are likely to charge about $100-$200 for a simple gold band set. The same in platinum versions may cost you something between $400-$600 a piece. Diamond options however, are more costly and may start from $750 and beyond. As you decide on a particular type, do not forget to add engraving costs if you at all want (hopefully you will) to personalize your rings. Engraving costs on metal surface may range from $1 to $8 per character when you choose machine engraving. Prepare to add few more cash if you like your rings to have hand engraving.

Set deadlines for browsing

You may have initial looks much before the planned wedding date. But once you made up your mind on the preliminaries and the budget as explained above, start visiting the shops at least two months before the wedding date. Do not decide on what you see first. Allow yourself and your beloved sufficient time to make a shortlist. Also bear in mind that customizations like engravings can take up to one month after you place an order.

Look Forward

Your wedding ring may look very different now. But as long as its design and appearance conform to futuristic designs of next twenty years or beyond, you don’t need to worry much. Choose a design which will make you comfortable in wearing the ring in your business and social events that lie ahead.

Be Practical

Your ring should conform to your lifestyle. This is very important. Rings with very appealing looks may at times be uncomfortable to wear and you may have to take it off and run the risk of losing it. Since you are going to use the ring for the foreseeable future, consider what type of wedding ring will complement your everyday works. If you are a sportsman/sportswoman for example, there is no point in buying a big ring with uneven shape. Instead a thin, rounded edge ring will match your lifestyle. If you have to work in dusty environments or you use your hands more in your works, a diamond ring may be very unsuitable. Look for rings with hypoallergenic substance like platinum if you are allergic to certain metals.

Size matters

Like most people you would possibly not like to take your ring off the finger rather use it through all your activities, in all seasons and in all physical conditions. Your fingers swell or contract in these times. So be careful in selecting a size that strikes a balance between finger swelling and contractions. Make it a point to order for your ring size when your body is calm and comfortable with normal temperature. As a guideline, never do the final trial with your ring in the morning or after an exercise or strenuous physical activity.

Confirm the Quality

Quality matters most in buying a wedding ring. Rings of genuine quality essentially have two marks on the inner surface of the ring’s shank. One mark should spell out the manufacturer’s identity while the other mark should speak of the material quality (22K, 24K, PLAT etc). Check to find out quality marks of all the metals when you choose a fusion metal ring or combination rings.

In addition to the buying guidelines, following tips should be useful to keep your wedding rings clean, safe, secure and ever shining:

Clean regularly

Wedding rings can accumulate dust or dirt. Cleaning them could be a real hassle. While normal cleaning may be as simple as wiping the ring with soft clean cloth (like chamois), you should dip the ring in alcohol to remove the grease followed by brushing it with soft toothbrush. Few drops of ammonia in soap water can remove tarnish. These are mostly applicable for simple metal rings. Rings with stones should however be more carefully cleaned with softer brushes and dried up after a wash.

Keep it safe

Regardless of the materials, all rings are vulnerable to pinch, breaks, tarnish and scratch. If you are involved in rough works, sports, chemical exposures or even in fun swimming in a pool with water disinfectants, you should take your ring off and store it in a safe place. When unavoidable scratches occur, you may ask your jeweler for a polish or even a change of plating. Many jewelers would do it within a small cost. As for safety, remember rings are very easy to lose. If you have to take your ring off your finger, chose a temporary storage place much safer than your wallet or pocket. Put it away from sinks and pores and preferably remove your ring before you go out. These reduce the risks of losing what you probably revere most.
