Scottish Wedding Bands

Couples with Scottish heritage, and those with an interest in Scottish culture often prefer Scottish wedding bands. Scottish jewelry is not only distinctive, but it bares an interesting history. As is with many cultures, Scottish jewelry is celtic inspired. Celtic styles are appropriate for both sexes and often the designs compliment one another making them ideal for couples looking for something special.

There are many things to consider when looking for a Scottish wedding band. Some of the things to look for would include:

Design- Consider the design of the ring and it’s ability to fit in with your everyday attire. Some of the more elaborate celtic designs may not be fitting of your daily wardrobe.

Metal- Scottish wedding bands should either be carved or cast using a precious metal. It is best to avoid metal that will soften over time like golds of a higher carat because the details in the ring design may wear.

Gemstones/Diamonds- It is not uncommon for a Scottish wedding band to incorporate a diamond or gemstone. Look for stones that are indicative of the region or have a jeweler work your favorite stone into their design.

Some other Scottish wedding band styles may use the Scottish national flower in the design. The thistle and other Scottish icons are often used as key design features in jewelry. Designs such as these are often more meaningful and eye catching than traditional wedding bands.
